Be Part of a Historical Tuscan Farm in Mugello: Adopt an Olive Tree

Easter days have arrived. During this special time, we remember to be grateful to our ancestors and proud of the work they started more than a century ago.
Now, in 2014, we celebrate (at least) 125 years since our family has been producing extravirgin olive oil, with a lot of committment to the entire process, from an attentive care of the olive trees to the final press of the olive harvest. We say at least 125 years because our archival works have so far indicated that the family was studying scientific reviews since 1889 in order to improve the olive oil production. Raffaele’s great grandfather, Cav. Paolo Edlmann, and his grandfather Franco Edlmann put even more effort into obtaining a high quality olive oil from all the properties around Mugello that the family owned before the Second World War.

This year we also celebrate the first certified organic extravirgin olive oil production that we are now introducing on the market. Here you can see a preview of one of our labels.

The Poggio alle Ville farm is a fraction of what the Martini-Edlmann families used to own in the past - nowadays we are a small producer who aims for the highest quality we can possibly obtain from our olive trees. Compared to the industrial olive oil production, we can guarantee that our organic extravirgin olive oil is extracted from our own olives, hand picked and pressed with a state of the art technology to ensure the lowest possible acidity, the lowest point accepted by law in fact.

We would like you to take part in our celebration by offering you the possibility to discover the special world of olive oil and to actually be involved in its production.  So why not adopt a very old olive tree in our farm?!

Adopt an Olive Tree Programme is meant, on the one hand to support us in caring for the oldest trees (especially by allocating more resources to the important phase of pruning), and on the other hand to encourage each of you to be more aware of the advantages that extravirgin olive oil consumption might have on your diet and general well being.

Rikke adopted an olive tree in Hans Christian's name for their anniversary in February.
She also adopted one tree for herself when they visited us last week.

For a small annual contribution, you will receive not only three 500ml bottles of our certified Organic Extravirgin Olive oil, but also discounts in case you wish to spend some of your holidays on our farm in May, June, October and November. In late October and November you can also take part in the harvest and see how the oil is produced. There are also other surprises!
So far there are three old trees adopted, two by Denmark and one by Austria :-)!

An Adopted Olive tree (with all the benefits) is at the same time an extraordianry gift for an anniversary, a wedding, a baptism or a birthday. Or just for the sake of being part of a historical farm in Mugello, northern Tuscany.
